Support Assist by Donating

Assist receives the majority of its funding from the Law Society of Alberta. However, this funding is not designed to cover all of our operations. We are required to obtain support from Alberta lawyers, law firms and others to assist us with our proactive programs.

Assist is a charitable organization for the purposes of the Income Tax Act (Canada), registration number 8766 20502 RR0001. This means that we can issue charitable deduction receipt for donations you make.

By 2022, work-from-home practices had already been established as the new normal. As mandates were lifted at the end of the pandemic, firms and individuals alike adopted a model that allowed for employees to have more flexibility in their work schedules as we all slowly returned to the office.

Our programs and fundraising efforts are designed to take into account that those who benefit from our programs are in various locations including but not limited to their offices and home offices. As offices moved to a hybrid model, we did the same to accommodate users of our programs.

Please note our new address. We have appreciated the in-kind donation of office space made to us by JSS Barristers for 9 years. We also receive in-kind support for mailings, brochure printing, computer support, financial review and our website. Please click here if you would like to make an in-kind donation.

Occasionally we seek sponsors for events run by Assist and we feature the names of sponsors on our materials. We can only issue a charitable deduction receipt if we can calculate the value of the sponsorship and we deduct the value of the advantage flowing to the sponsor in accordance with tax case law and the rules and policies of the Canada Revenue Agency.
